Jessie Watford Moring
PINCKARD - Jessie Watford Moring, a resident of Pinckard, died Monday morning, December 14, 2009, at her home after a short illness. She was 78.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2009, in the Pinckard United Methodist Church with the Reverend C. Anthony Tutor officiating. Burial will follow in the Pinckard Memorial Cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11 a.m. Wednesday in the church sanctuary.

Mrs. Moring was born in Madrid, Alabama and was reared in Dothan. She lived in Pinckard all her adult lifetime. Mrs. Moring was formerly employed by the Southeast Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission as the receptionist. In earlier years, she and her husband owned and operated the Pinckard Motor Company. Mrs. Moring was an active member of the Pinckard United Methodist Church, the U.M.W. and also the Pinckard Study Club. She served for many years as the secretary and treasurer of the Pinckard Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Moring was preceded in death by her husband, James Lamar (Pie) Moring, her father, Floyd Rush Watford, her mother, Willie Clark Watford Johnson and her step-father, Daniel Walter Johnson Sr.
Surviving relatives include her daughter, Cynthia Moring Nowell and husband, Benny Nowell, Dothan; two sons, Craig Lamar Moring and wife, Dee Moring, Kingsville, Texas, James Charles Moring and wife, Jan Moring, Wicksburg; seven grandchildren, Ellen Nowell Cain, Ben Nowell, Brett Stewart and wife, Michelle, Brad Stewart and wife, Jennifer, Travis Stewart and wife, Amanda, Jenifer Ward and Josh Ward; a great-granddaughter, Caroline Nowell Cain; a sister, Judith Redding, DeFuniak Springs, Fla; two brothers, Gene Watford and wife, Jettie Watford, Columbus, Ga., Wallace Johnson and wife, Suzanne Johnson, Ft. Walton, Fla.; step-sisters, Fredda Johnson Marsh and Miriam Johnson Roney; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law from the Moring family, Gladys Horn, Dothan, Robert and Sue Moring, Valparaiso, Fla., Frank and Peggy Moring, Pinckard.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Ben Nowell, Josh Ward, Zack Kelley, Lowell Williams, Michael Curry and Chad Redding.
