William Guy Parsons Sr.
Major (Ret.) William “Bill” Guy Parsons Sr. died Monday morning, June 14, 2010, at his home in Ozark, Alabama. He was 87.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010, at the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with the Rev. Stuart Smith and the Rev. Alina Holmes officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy, Alabama under the direction of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, June 16, from 6-8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Resource Center, P.O. Box 1170, Dothan, AL 36302.
Major Parsons retired from the U.S. Army where he was a pilot with the 98th Bombardment Group during World War II. He also retired from Fort Rucker where he was part of the CID. After retirement, he continued to work with the CID (Civil Services). He spent 36 years with government services. He was preceded in death by his wife, Zelma Watkins Parsons, in 2005.
Survivors include his son, Bill Parsons Jr., and his wife, Donna, of Ozark, Ala.; and one brother, Kenneth Parsons, of New Hampshire.
